Fred W. Purdy, P.E.

Mr. Purdy has over 40 years of experience (30 years with SST) as a civil and structural engineer, experienced in all phases of general design and construction. His most recent experience has been mainly the design, supervision and inspection of the installation/erection of tall guyed towers and self-supporting towers. He has performed numerous detailed structural analyses and designs of both steel frame and reinforced concrete structures and foundation systems. In addition, Mr. Purdy has provided many years of professional structural engineering consultation and evaluation to the broadcast and telecommunications industries.

Kaveh Mehrnama, P.E.

Mr. Mehrnama has over 24 years of experience with SST in the structural design and analysis of steel frame and reinforced concrete structures and foundation systems, including tall guyed towers (up to 2000 ft.) and self-supporting towers (up to 1000 ft.). He worked with Dr. Michael Soteriades (Former Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering at Catholic University) in developing a specialized computer structural analysis program for steel guyed towers.

Greg Pleinka

Mr. Pleinka brings 30 years of telecommunications and digital communications expertise to our clients.  Greg has held several management positions and senior sales positions with large, national communication companies.  Throughout his career, Greg has repeatedly demonstrated a genuine knowledge of the broadcast industry including technical expertise, critical thinking, problem solving, cost effective solutions, return on investment.   Greg is headquartered in our sales office in Newport News, Virginia.

Chief Designer/Draftsman

Bryan Burton

Mr. Burton has over 25 years of experience as a structural designer and draftsman. He is skilled in both hand drafting and Autocad 12 through 2005. He has many years of extensive experience in the design and detailing of steel and reinforced concrete structures, including towers, bridges, foundations, and specialized antenna mounts.

Office Manager and Executive Secretary

Mary Acker

Ms. Acker has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and over 20 years of management and accounting experience. She assists in all aspects of business administration, including financial accounting, record keeping, preparing payroll, purchase orders and tower inspection reports.

Matthew J. Vlissides, P.E.

Mr. Vlissides, an engineering consultant, has over 40 years of experience in structural and mechanical engineering and is a specialist in antenna and tower design, fabrication supervision and installation. He has experience in analysis, design, specification writing and fabrication supervision of advanced structures and has worked extensively in overseas regions.

Michael C. Soteriades, Sc.D., P.E.

Dr. Soteriades, specialized in structural mechanics, structural Dynamics and Earthquake engineering, has more than 40 years of experience as an engineering consultant and more that 30 years of experience teaching in various fields of structural engineering as professor and Dean of the School of Engineering at Catholic University of America. Dr. Soteriades was instrumental in developing the high capacity proprietary computer program used by Structural Systems Technology, Inc. for guyed towers.
